Horoscope: The Signs as Tropical Fruit

Aries: March 21–April 19

Passionfruit

The semi-aggressive pop of flavor and crunch of the passionfruit’s seeds mirror the “passionate” and sometimes dogmatic personality of Aries.

Taurus: April 20–May 20

Dragonfruit

One of the easiest tropical fruits to eat. You simply slice it open and spoon out the good stuff. The perfect, easy snack for our good ol’ leisure-loving Taurus.

Gemini: May 21–June 21

Longan and Lychee

On the outside it seems like these two are polar opposites with lychee’s bright red spikes and longan’s dusty brown exterior. But when you peel off their shell, they’re basically just two sides of the same fruit.

Cancer: June 22–July 22

Papaya

The smooth papaya in both texture and taste is the ultimate comfort food for our emotionally-secure and comfort-loving Cancers.

Leo: July 23–August 22

Jackfruit

Jackfruit deserves the ultimate spotlight, just like our Leos. Not only is jackfruit’s flavor one of the most fragrant on our list, they’re also the biggest fruit by far. As the biggest tree-borne fruit in the world, jackfruits can weigh up to 40lbs and stretch almost 2ft long.

Virgo: August 23–September 22

Mango

Those perfect golden mangos can do no wrong, even in the eyes of our detail-oriented and perfectionist Virgos. For those Virgos giving their all to make the world a better place, the mango is their perfect sidekick.

Libra: September 23–October 23

Coconut

If we decide to dive fully down the zodiac-stereotype route, then the coconut is best for all those indecisive Libras. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside, and liquid in the middle!? And then at some point it can be turned into houses and milk?? Make up your mind.

Scorpio: October 24–November 21

Pineapple

This spiky exterior hides a sweetie on the inside. We were also told that pineapples make for a good aphrodisiac but apparently so do bananas which doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense.

Sagittarius: November 22–December 21

Kumquat

I’m pushing all our Sags out of their comfort zone with this one. If you’re afraid of commitment, meet the kumquat. Gloriously unique and one of the best fruits out there, this little golden guy grows on a bush with thousands of his other kumquat friends. Looking to shine through on your own but still find a companion that can keep up with your awesomeness, channel your inner kumquat.

Capricorn: December 22–January 19

Banana

For those with a little patience, the banana can make one of the best additions to any tropical fruit smoothie. This presumably conservative fruit for a presumably conservative Capricorn can add some unexpected spice to anyone's life when you consume one a certain way in public.

Aquarius: January 20–February 18

Guava

The flavor profile of a guava is all over the place. Will the next bite be sour and the texture hard? Or are you surprised to find a soft and sweet fruit instead? Guavas are eccentric and mislabeled. Perfect for our water-bearing air-signs.

Pisces: February 19–March 20

Acai

While super sour on their own, these moody little berries are polar opposites of their sweet acai bowls cousins. Perfect for Pisces’s fluctuating moods.
