Hello from the New and Returning Editors!
Louis Chase ‘26 is a linguistics major in their third semester as a content editor on the Quest board. While mildly terrified to be the most experienced editor with just one full term under their belt, Louis is excited to continue providing Quest contributors with the editorial support they need to keep the Reed community informed and hold power to account. They hope to further solidify the Quest’s community ties by doubling down on outreach and engagement with students, faculty, and staff alike while emphasizing the importance of journalistic ethics and accountability. In their own reporting, Louis focuses on student life, politics, labor, and health, in addition to the occasional screed about how the Eastmoreland Golf Course should be replaced with a public sex forest. When not writing or editing, Louis can be found in their natural habitat, Canyon Cafe. Their favorite Star Trek series is DS9 and their favorite IPA symbol is /ɘ/.
Sokhna Gaye ‘28 is a biochemistry and molecular biology major in their first semester on the Quest’s editorial board as a content and copy editor. Her main contribution to the Quest is by creating weekly Sudokus. This semester, her main goal is to implement outreach and digital accessibility initiatives in regards to the Quebsite. On the days she’s not editing articles, she’s most likely playing Block Blast, Homescapes, and Cookie Run: Kingdom. Her favorite enzymes are flippase and floppase, which both do exactly what they sound like.
Piper S. McKeever ‘26 is a returning content and copy editor and junior philosophy major. At the Quest, Piper offers her web design experience and often contributes entertainment and opinion articles. If you see a top box or a quippy comment, there’s a very good chance it’s her doing. When she’s not busy locking in and fixing the Quest website with a focus never before seen, or doing all her damn reading, she loves to watch movies, write poetry, take walks in the sunshine or even not in the sunshine sometimes, and pretend she’s Kierkegaard.
Isabel Rosa ‘28 is a psychology major and layout editor. She is too busy laying out this week’s paper to formulate an introduction for herself. Her wonderful, gorgeous, perfect roommate is Sokhna Gaye, and she will spill the “tea” about her. Isabel is very brave when it comes to murdering/disposing of spiders in our dorm. She becomes mildly annoyed when she is coerced into driving to Taco Bell or McDonald’s in the wee hours of night. She is very excited for her role as layout editor for the Quest, despite her apathetic demeanor.
Vincent Tanforan ‘27 is a history/literature major entering his first semester on the Quest editorial board as a content and copy editor. After a year of writing for the paper, he is ready to apply his keen eye for detail, while encouraging new stories and proposing future directions for the Quest. He hopes to foster more community and support diverse involvement with the Quest this semester, as well as, of course, continuing to utter Quears of increasing heinosity. Vincent is ready for a future of more Thesis Christs, grammar-induced aneurysms, and no sleep. Outside of writing, he loves reading, watching pretentious movies, and partaking in copious amounts of Diet Coke.
