Renn Fayre ’25: A Cosmic Resurgence! Here’s What We Need From You To Make It Happen

Last Friday, the theme of Renn Fayre ‘25 was revealed at Bikini Bottom Ball. In case you missed it, from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4, Reed’s campus will be transformed into a whole new intergalactic universe. Now that the Renn Fayre ‘25 theme has been revealed, it is time for you to help us put together a stellar Cosmic Resurgence! We know that learning the theme has sparked the creative juices, and we want to see what you are thinking of! Every year, student projects transcend the Renn Fayre theme with interactive sculptures, exhibits, and events. We have the budget to fund your ideas and want to see as many as possible. While there are guidelines to the projects we can accept, these are in place to preserve campus before graduation. As a result, the Renn Fayre Committee will unfortunately have to take down any unapproved projects. To avoid this happening and give you funding and support, all projects must be submitted through the student project proposal form by March 9. From spaceship installations to reinterpretations of classic traditions to planetariums, we are excited to see what creative proposals you come up with! Your Renn Fayre Czars are here to support your ideas and fund your work, however, we can only do so if you help us by submitting before March 9 (the link can be found in SB Info, as well as on the @rennfayre Instagram).

As we have mentioned in previous articles, the heart of every Renn Fayre is the committed participation of the student body. While student projects are important, it is now time to talk about volunteering! We know everyone wants to help Renn Fayre run smoothly and to ensure that, we need you to sign up to volunteer. Join a Krew and experience the otherworldly kommunity of Cosmic Resurgence. Set-up Krew members get to make decoration decisions and add artistic details all over campus. Klean-up Krew restores campus to its former, albeit much less spacetastical, state. Neither of these Krews are inspiring you? Another way to ensure this year’s Renn Fayre is out of this world is to keep your fellow Reedies fed and hydrated throughout the weekend. Join Bagel Patrol and sign up for shifts walking around campus handing out bagels and water. This is a great option if you would like to explore campus with friends and help out the community!

Do you not want to work during Renn Fayre? That’s fine, in the few days before Renn Fayre weekend, we will need help setting up the Dome for student performers. This is a more physical and hands-on option, so if you would like to stay inside, helping out with the Feast may be calling your name. This can involve prepping food for Saturday’s spectacular meal in the days leading up to Renn Fayre, or donating board points to help us fund the Feast. As you are all aware, budgets are reduced for all clubs this semester and this impacts Renn Fayre as well. Our budget is $15,000 less than the past few years, which is the entire cost of Saturday’s Feast. So, if you have extra board points, pretty please dedicate them to feeding the student body at Renn Fayre!

Volunteering for Renn Fayre is an expectation for most students and a great way to contribute to this celebration of the seniors! Please refer to the sign up links in SB Info, as well as on the @rennfayre Instagram. We can’t wait to see your project ideas and your names signed up to volunteer!

We are looking forward to working with everyone to put on a legendary weekend full of unforgettable, otherworldly memories that will launch Renn Fayre into outer space.
