White Bird is Back and Wants to Help!

During Renn Fayre, White Bird Rock Medicine will return to Reed to provide medical and harm reduction services to the community. White Bird has traditionally been at Renn Fayre as the primary medical touchpoint for students, with a medical team consisting of doctors, nurses, EMTs, and crisis counselors. White Bird Rock Medicine uses funds raised by festival medical services to support underserved and marginalized communities and up until this year was connected with White Bird Clinic, which provides medical care in Eugene, Oregon, to homeless and low-income patients at little to no cost. Recently, White Bird Rock Medicine became a separate non-profit to expand its philanthropic efforts in Oregon.

In addition to providing their services at Renn Fayre, White Bird has hosted training on campus to prepare the community for the event. All students who seek treatment through White Bird will be ensured confidential medical care, protected under HIPAA. Students experiencing drug-related medical concerns will be able to access quick care at the White Bird tent, alongside students needing basic festival necessities such as menstrual products, earplugs, Advil, sunscreen, and more. During Renn Fayre, students are encouraged to seek support at White Bird if they need any assistance, and not to wait until a concern becomes an emergency. Any students who are ingesting substances should also utilize testing strips to ensure that they do not contain fentanyl
