Letter From Andrew Sakahara
Dear Editors,
I am writing to hopefully make it publicly known, in the next edition of the Quest, that my committee reports in the previous edition of Senate Beat were misprinted. A sentence of my report states, "Additionally, [Sakahara] reported on Greenboard's participation in the library's 'couple time[s] a century' review of its subscription to journals and other serial publications that in the future the college would cut subscriptions and attempt to rely more on interlibrary loans."
I would love to, if possible, make it known that my meeting with Greenboard surrounded sustainability on campus and was in no way related to my meeting as a member of the Library Board. As the student representative to the Library Board, I attended a separate meeting surrounding the 2024 Serials Review, where the Board discussed ways in which all departments could move forward identifying journals in which an interlibrary loan would suffice rather than an online subscription.
While I would not normally contact the Quest about misprints to my committee reports, I found this correction absolutely necessary as the last edition misrepresented the goals of Greenboard as a student organization to the student body. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and I'll see you around!
Warm regards,
Andrew
