Letter from the Editors: Policy Update

Dear Readers,

After receiving feedback from the student body regarding our recent coverage of the walkout on January 26, we have decided to implement a new policy on potential conflicts of interest when writing about current events on campus. 

This thereby states that when an author is assigned to any article covering a group on campus, we aim to do everything in our power to find a writer who has not previously nor at the time of publication been involved in said group. However, if the only contributor available to cover a story has been involved in the group, we claim the right to assign stories as necessary for coverage to happen within a timely manner. 

In the case that it is necessary to assign an author who has a potential conflict of interest to a story, we ask that they disclose their conflict.
